I found this magical pink-petalled strawberry plant at my local supermarket earlier this month. I was so excited I literally walked around the entire store with them, just in case someone bought them before I had a chance to pick them up at after my food shop. I love strawberries and have planted them in the past, but wanted to try them in a hanging basket. Slugs love these juicy pieces of heaven as much as I do, and there is no pain greater than spotting a ripe berry only to find it is simply a shell of it’s former self. So, when I spotted this already in a hanger, I knew it was meant to be.
I love seeing these flowers catch the light as I come home from work. By now I have even had a few of the berries and am pleased to say they taste just as delicious as regular white-petalled ones!
